China's foreign trade amounted to 37.96 trillion yuan ($5.3 trillion) from January to November 2023, remaining consistent with the corresponding period from the previous year, data from the General Administration of Customs showed on Thursday.
The country's exports grew by 0.3 percent year-on-year to 21.6 trillion yuan during the 11-month-period, while imports stood at 16.36 trillion yuan, experiencing a 0.5 percent fall on a yearly basis. Its trade surplus reached 5.24 trillion yuan, expanding by 2.8 percent year-on-year.
In November alone, China's import and export value reached 3.7 trillion yuan, showing a 1.2 percent growth year-on-year, according to customs statistics.
China exported 12.66 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products in the first 11 months, an increase of 2.8 percent year-on-year, accounting for 58.6 percent of the country's total export value.
